Family baking traditions date back to the early 1950s, when the Areliz family proudly baked pan dulce for their small “pueblo” in Mexico.

Mariachi holds a special place in Mexican culture, as does pan dulce. With the founders’ expertise, Mariachi Bakery uses the finest ingredients to continue its legacy of serving a piece of Mexican culture to Southern California — with a modern twist.

Detailed Job Description

Job Summary

This position contributes to MARIACHI BAKERY success by providing excellent customer service. This job creates the MARIACHI BAKERY EXPERIENCE for our customers by providing customers with prompt and quality service, maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Understands and executes in accordance with MARIACHI BAKERY mission, values and policies.

Activities & Responsibilities

  • Follow Mariachi Bakery operational policies and procedures (safety, security, etc.).
  • Provide quality service consistently and follow our good practices and Culture.
  • Prepare bills for food, accept payment, or make change.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes.
  • Balance receipts and payments in cash registers.
  • Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment.
  • Replenish foods at serving stations.
  • Deliver orders to kitchens and pick up and serve food when it is ready.
  • Organize and deliver food for third-party delivery platforms.
  • Take orders and answer phones.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events.
  • Plan work accordingly for Drip Coffee and Café de Olla.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace for efficiency.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide guests with product details (e.g., bread ingredients, allergen info).
  • Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment.
  • Help maintain clean service areas (bathrooms, dining room, etc.).
  • Set up or restock product displays.
  • Stock guest service stations with utensils.
  • Order, receive, or stock supplies or retail products.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow associates to meet customer needs.
  • Fill in for fellow associates where needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, squat, reach, push/pull, climb stairs for long periods.
  • Ability to carry 35 lbs consistently.
  • Experience in service or entertainment industry (restaurant, bar, theater, hospitality).
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of specialty retail sales experience.
  • 1 year of Customer Service experience.
  • High attention to detail with multitasking ability.
  • Ability to quickly learn and read customer cues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building.
  • Capable of working various store “Zones” and tasks during shifts.
  • Ability to memorize complex menus, ingredients, and recipes.
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred (not required).

Monday to Saturday 6 AM to 8 PM / Sunday 7 AM to 8 PM
7-hour shifts (Full Time) / 4-hour shifts (Part Time)
